Finance Manager – Startup Operations (Netherlands, Germany & US)
Regions: NL / DE / US | Remote / Hybrid | Full-time / Part-time | Contractor or Payroll
Role summary
As Finance Manager at IProLoop, you will build and run a startup-ready finance function across the Netherlands, Germany, and the US. You ensure clean processes, reliable reporting, and strong cash control—while coordinating accountants, banks, and compliance requirements across jurisdictions. This role is hands-on and process-driven: you set up what’s needed, keep it running, and continuously improve it as we scale.
What you’ll do (startup-focused procedures)
Set up finance operations from scratch: chart of accounts alignment, invoice workflows, approvals, documentation standards
Own cash-flow and runway management (weekly cash view, payment planning, scenario planning)
Establish AR/AP procedures: invoicing, payment terms, dunning/collections, vendor payments, expense controls
Build monthly closing routines (checklists, deadlines, reconciliations, management reporting)
Create and maintain budget & forecast models and track actuals vs. plan
Coordinate VAT/BTW and filings with external accountants (NL/DE) and support US requirements with local partners
Support payroll processes (data preparation, reviews, coordination with payroll providers)
Maintain banking and funding readiness: documentation, lender reporting, guarantee/loan processes, audit trails
Review contracts and pricing from a finance perspective (margins, payment terms, risk, scalability)
Drive automation and tooling (dashboards, templates, lightweight systems that work for a startup)
What we’re looking for
Proven finance experience in a startup / scale-up or building finance processes in a fast-moving environment
Strong operational finance skills: cash management, month-end close, AR/AP, reporting, forecasting
Ability to design and document simple, scalable procedures and ensure they are followed
Comfortable working across NL, DE, and US stakeholders and external advisors
High accuracy, ownership, and reliability; proactive problem solver
Fluent English; German and/or Dutch is a plus
Nice to have
Experience with German UG/GmbH, Dutch BV, and basic understanding of US entity operations
Experience with bank conversations, loan documentation, guarantees, or investor reporting
Familiarity with common startup tools (Excel/Google Sheets, accounting software, expense tools, CRM billing)
What you can expect
High ownership and direct impact on how the company scales financially
Clear priorities, fast decisions, and close collaboration with leadership
A role built around execution: structure, transparency, and measurable outcomes
How to apply
Send your profile (CV or LinkedIn) and a brief note/motivation outlining your startup finance experience, the procedures you have built (e.g., month-end close, cash planning, AR/AP, controls), your exposure to NL/DE/US environments, and your preferred working model (freelance/contractor or payroll) to hr@iproloop.com.
